I am excited to report that Akamai has acquired Soha Systems. The acquisition will complement Akamai’s strategy of securing, protecting and accelerating enterprise applications and services in the cloud. The press release covering the acquisition is here: https://www.akamai.com/us/en/about/news/press/2016-press/akamai-acquires-soha-systems-for-secure-remote-access-to-enterprise-applications.jsp
When we started Soha Systems (formerly known as BubblewrApp) about 3 years ago, we posited that the enterprise computing environment is changing faster than businesses are equipped to handle. This hypothesis has since been proven as fact, and we have many happy customers who wholeheartedly agree that our solution has made their application environments more secure, while enabling a significantly more user-friendly access experience.
The advent of hybrid cloud environments and mobile device usage has upended the traditional methods of enabling secure access. In fact, changes are occurring faster than even we imagined.
As the old African saying goes: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Team Soha has a lot more work to do to fully realize our goals of fundamentally changing how enterprise secure access works. But we want to go far, and Akamai is absolutely the best partner for us to go farthest. We look forward to fully integrating our groundbreaking solution as a high-value component of Akamai’s massively scalable, global platform.
We couldn’t have gotten here without all the feedback and words of encouragement from our existing customer base. Our customers clearly recognized the uniqueness of our solution and how it could improve their application security posture. At the same time, they took an enormous risk in relying on a service being operated by a small startup. I’m happy to report to our customers that they made the right bet. Not only does Akamai intend to continue delivering the Soha Cloud service to the market, we are exploring ways to leverage many of the phenomenal features already available on the Akamai platform as add-ons to the Soha secure access service – and vice versa over time.
Lastly, I want to thank the incredibly special group of people that make up Team Soha. This acquisition is a testament to their hard work and effort. I wish all of us best of luck as we continue to change the world as proud members of Team Akamai.
